Protect Your Electrical Systems with Infrared Testing

infratest1If you operate an industrial plant or business, one of the most critical areas of concern is the integrity and safety of your facility’s electrical systems.

Because electrical safety is a top priority at Oak Electric Service, we now offer thermography testing services for our commercial electrical customers. Thermography testing, also known as infrared (IR) testing, is one of the most effective tools available to detect overloads, poor connections, faulty contacts, and other “hot spots” in an electrical system, any of which could result in a fire.

Our electricians use special infrared imaging and measurement cameras to accurately scan, visualize and analyze the thermal energy being emitted from mechanical equipment and electrical systems. This equipment allows us to quickly inspect a large amount of electrical equipment and locate faulty electrical items not generally found during a physical inspection.

Thermography testing detects approximately 75 percent of the root causes of potential electrical failures. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends that commercial and industrial buildings conduct at least one IR survey annually.

To find out more about why annual infrared electrical testing should be part of your commercial maintenance and safety program, give Oak Electric a call today at (800) 964-7070. We invite you to visit our website at www.oakelectric.com to learn more about us.
