Among the biggest fire potentials in the home are faulty electrical wires, plugs and panels and the misuse of electrical outlets and extension cords. Plugging multiple extension cords together or having multiple power strips linked together and plugged into one outlet will overload the circuit and increase the potential for problems.
We also recommend not plugging appliances into old screw-in light bulb adapters in places where there are no wall outlets available. If the cord isn’t plugged in all the way, it can result in poor electrical contact that causes arcing which can result in fire.
