DTE Energy Plans Wind Turbine Installations in Michigan

DTE Energy plans to install nearly 140 wind turbines in Michigan’s Thumb area by 2014, with the first half going in by the end of 2012. The Detroit-based utility company has contracted with GE to supply 137 wind turbines for projects in Huron and Sanilac counties. The turbines’ capacity of 220 megawatts is enough to supply electricity to a city of about 100,000 people.
